Dear Paul and Staff,
I just wanted to write a note to say THANKS so very much for all the help, consideration and kindness from you, your staff and the other outside help and resources you gave me or directed me to!
Back in November of 2002, I had nowhere to turn, down on my luck, out of money and was just about to file bankruptcy, when I came across your ad in the Journal. Of course, like some ads you come across, they sound too good to be true, but I called it anyway. But for the first time, in a long time, I had dialed the right one! I listened to the messages then went online and thoroughly checked out the website. I was pleasantly surprised. I kind of expected to see ugly, run down houses, but to the contrary, there were quite a few great looking ones and with a great caption above them, " $1900 Moves you in." Even though it still sounded too good to be true, I checked it out further, by contacting you, Paul James. Am I ever glad I did. I really enjoyed our first meeting as you showed me a couple of your houses and told me how you could help.
I followed the pre-approval procedure with you and ... found my house. Which I may not have gotten, because someone else looked at it at the same time as I, except for the fact that I was already pre-approved. When I said I wanted it, you informed the others that I was already pre-approved with you and I wanted the house. Wow, that gave me chills, and I felt like I was special, and not the bad person after all! THANKS!
We discussed the extra $ that would go towards my down if I would fix the few little things myself, which I did, thus giving me a bigger down. Because of my credit situation, you also worked up some figures for me with different interests rates, and lower payments, if there was anyway to come up with a little more down to help lower the interest and payment. In my case, I was able to. I it isn't something that everyone would be able to do, but, I know that won't stop you from helping them.
Also, by helping set up payroll deduction for the house payment, there was no worry about it being late, EVER! That also helped, make things easier. Your company offers a lot of people like me who are down on their luck the ability to actually buy a house, even when everyone else has turned us down. You are all, truly life savers, and I will never forget the day of closing, Jan 10th, 2003, when you gave me the keys to MY house and shook my hand and said Congratulations, you are now a homeowner!! You truly restored my faith in a lot of things, but especially people, because you proved that someone really does care. No matter what my questions were, you gave me answers, and made me feel comfortable about the process!
Because of your company, I have my pride back and was able to get back on my feet. It meant a lot to me, and I will never forget it! Feel free to use this letter to help encourage others in their pursuit to find a HOME. I can only hope they too, come away from your company in 2 years with their refinance in as good standings as I did. Thanks again, for all you do, and have done. I know you will continue to help others like me, and you do it so well.
Sincerely, Debra F. Woods- (AKA - Wentzville Home Owner)
